Olympic Stadium and Expo '67. this was the perfect ending to an already great trip. The combined effort of the leaders and the girls who went was well worth it.
The girls mountaineering program has been a great success this year largely due to the spirit of the girls and teamwork they exhibited throughout.
The ten overnights during the summer gave us a good idea of how the girls would perform on harder expeditions. Every girl could easily make it to the top of our harder climbs, because of the sound basic camping training they received at Mt. Cathalia and on the beginning slopes. All girls were prepared both physically and mentally for expedition.
The aims of the program or to introduce the girl campers to the beauty of the wilderness and conquer their fears of the unknown. It is my hope that I have succeeded in making the campers aware of the world around them.

I would like to conclude by mentioning that both the Boys and Girls mountaineering program were big success. We managed to take out more than twenty overnights during the summer, enabling every bunk to go out on an overnight, taking 91% of boys camp out and a large percentage of girls. We visited six different states, two countries, climbed the highest mountain in the Catskills, Adirondacks and N.Y.S., climbed the highest mountain in the eastern part of the U.S. Last but not least hiking the longest trail in the world. However one thing that we are most proud of, is the saving of three girls lives.

Best Wishes & Lots of Love,
