Trip to Watkins Glen

Watkins Glen is a very interesting place to visit because the Grand Prix races are held there and a very famous natural gorge is there. On August 6th most of the superpeople and a few girls took a trip to Watkins Glen. This is what we did.

Right after breakfast we boarded the bus and started our trip to Watkins Glen. The trip going there took 3-3 hours. When we got to the Lakeview Hotel we ate lunch. When we finished eating we brought our suitcases to our rooms. Then we got on the bus and we went to the top of the gorge. We walked down on an interesting path and we saw how the water had eaten away the rock in its path. We saw a few small water falls and we walked across small bridges. Then we got to the bottom and we all got ice cream. After we had our ice cream and bought souvenirs we got on the bus and headed to the motel for a swim. The water was refreshing. When we were finished swimming we changed and watched T.V. About a half hour later we ate supper. After supper we got on the bus and went to the movies and saw "Up the Down Staircase." It was a very good movie. On the way back we stopped for ice cream at Howard Johnson's. Then we went back to the motel and went to sleep.

Early the next morning we packed our suitcases and put them in the bus before we went to breakfast. After breakfast we got on the bus and headed for the Gold Seal Winery. When we got there we saw a movie about the winery. Then we walked through part of the building where wine was being stored. We also saw over 3 million bottles of champagne stored. At the end of the tour we all got grape juice and cheese crackers. After we had our snack we got on the bus and went to the Corning Glass Museum. At the museum we saw all different kinds of glass. We also saw men and women making glassware. When we finished walking through the building we bought souvenirs. Then we got on the bus and headed for Cornell University where we ate lunch. After lunch we got souvenirs from the Cornell Bookstore. After we bought souvenirs we got on the bus and headed for camp. We got to camp just in time for supper. I thought the trip was great.
