one of the outstanding shows enacted this summer in the ranger playhouse was "funny girl". it was taken from the true life story of fanny brice. fanny, played by beth lippy, is a gangling young girl who has hopes of becoming a star. her confidence overcomes all obstacles and a star of the stage is born.

the campers displayed profession-like acting and sang forcefully, with confidence. "funny girl" had all the makings of a summer-stock play, even though the time allotted them were quite limited. no one will ever forger such songs as "people," "if a girl isn't pretty." and "don't rain on my parade," which has been ringing throughout the camp since the night of the performance. the excellent scenery, created by dave auerbach, extended the realistic atmosphere which reigned throughout the play. a special thank you must be given to noreen fishbien for the outstanding job she did on costumes.

the management extends its congradulations to the musical director and to the director for a fine performance.
