ONCE AGAIN, IT IS OUR SAD TASK TO WRITE A FAREWELL MESSAGE TO OUR OWN RANGER GIRLS AND BOYS WITH WHOM WE HAVE LIVED SO HAPPILY FOR THE PAST EIGHT WEEKS.

THE SEASON JUST PAST HAS BEEN ONE OF THE HAPPIEST AND HEALTHIEST IN THE FORTY-ONE YEARS OF CAMP RANGER'S EXISTENCE. WE REMEMBER, WITH FOND MEMORIES ALL OF THE PLEASANT EVENTS OF THIS SEASON: THE FINE CIRCUS AND CARNIVAL, WHICH RAISED $500 FOR THE U.J.A., FOR THE TWENTY SECOND CONSECUTIVE YEAR; THE EXCITING TRIPS TO GETTYSBURG, HOWE CAVERNS, AND THE CATSKILL GAME FARM; THE COED OUTDOOR BARBECUES; WATERSKIING, HORSEBACK RIDING AND SAILING; THE COOKOUTS AND OVERNIGHT SLEEP OUTS; THE EXCITING INTERCAMP GAMES; THE BOWLING NIGHTS IN LIBERTY; THE THRILLING "DAY WITH THE KNICKS" STARRING WILLIS REED, DAVE STALLWORTH, AND HENRY AKIN; A MOST EXCITING COLOR WAR WITH THE "PIE-IN-THE-FACE" BIRTHDAY CAKE FOR ARNIE TO START IT OFF; THE YUMMY "SUNDAE ON A SUNDAY" TREATS; THE FINE AQUASHOW; THE EXCITEMENT OF THE "RANGER RACEWAY" NIGHT; THE INSPIRING FRIDAY NIGHT SERVICES; THE OUTDOOR MOVIES; THE WEEKLY SOCIALS, FINAL FORMAL PROMS; THE GREAT DRAMATIC SHOWS, WHICH INCLUDED "PINOCCHIO", "FUNNY GIRL", "OLD-TIME VAUDEVILLE", "LIL ABNER", "CAMELOT", AND THE FINAL BIG SHOW "THE UNSINKABLE MOLLY BROWN" WHICH WAS THE USUAL SMASH HIT; THE EXCITEMENT OF THE "ANNOUNCEMENT OF AWARDS" NIGHT; THE HILARIOUS "HIGH COURT" NIGHT; THE "RANGER CUP" AND "INVITATIONAL" TENNIS TOURNAMENTS; AND FINALLY, THE FORTY-FIRST ANNUAL BANQUET FOLLOWED BY THE SENTIMENTAL "CANDLE LIGHTING CEREMONY" AT THE LAKE AND TEARS.

TO ALL OF YOU- OUR CAMPERS AND STAFF ALIKE - WE BID A FOND FAREWELL. WE SINCERELY HOPE THAT THE FRIENDSHIPS MADE HERE AT CAMP RANGER, THIS SEASON AS WELL AS IN THE PAST WILL CONTINUE FOR MANY YEARS TO COME AND WILL GROW STRONGER WITH EACH PASSING YEAR.

WE ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO THE GREAT PLEASURE OF SEEING ALL OF YOU AGAIN AT OUR ANNUAL REUNION WHICH WILL BE HELD ON SUNDAY AFTERNOON, JANUARY 29, 1967, IN THE TERRACE BALLROOM OF THE HOTEL STATLER HILTON IN NEW YORK CITY - IF IT DOESN'T SNOW! WE ALSO HOPE TO HAVE THE ADDITIONAL PLEASURE OF HAVING YOU BACK WITH US AT CAMP RANGER IN 1967 FOR ANOTHER SUMMER FILLED WITH ENJOYMENTAND HAPPINESS.

FONDLY,
JERRY LORBER AND LOU SILVERMAN
